Beautification
Committee

With spring and summer just around the corner, the Beautification Committee met with Marty at Buckwheats’ Florist and Greenhouse to pick the flowers for our Main Street. These will be in place the first week of June. Hopefully, we will have some more “trash cans” painted courtesy of Pioneer students.

We will complete a “shelter” in the municipal parking lot this year, as well as a map/brochure which will give visitors directions to areas for picnics - such as the Arcade Village Park, shelter in municipal lot, and the “Patio” along the creek. The Garden will again be a focal point for all who enter our village, and more benches will be purchased for along Main Street. Bricks for our Garden walkway are always on sale - forms are available at Village Office.

Last year, we purchased (3) trains thanks to a grant given us by Senator Dale M. Volker. This year we are adding accessories -buildings, people, and roads. Upon learning that the Friends of the Library were unable to do the “Festival of Trees”, the Beautification Committee took the project to the store windows on Main Street. It proved to be a great success, and we will continue this next season.

Don & Karen Norton will coordinate with the Village of Arcade for the annual, “Cleanup Arcade Day” to be held on April 26th.

We look forward to the upcoming year. Without the finacial support of the Village and Town Boards, we would be unable to achieve many of our goals; but we also need volunteers that are willing to give back to the community in which they live and/or work. Everyone is welcomed to attend our monthly meetings, held at 8 am the first Tuesday of the month at Delightful’s.
