Board of Trustees

Trustees are elected to a four year term.  Generally, the board of trustees have management of village property and finances, may create or abolish by resolution local laws to address village concerns consistent with the constitution and New York State laws, shall designate the depositaries for the deposit of moneys received by the village, accept dedicated streets, establish the village clerk's office hours, and may contract for the furnishing of fire protection and emergency services.

The Village of Arcade Board of Trustees meets in the village board room at 7:00 PM on the first and third Tuesday of every  month. Board meetings are open to the public and Village of Arcade residents are encouraged to attend.

Current Village of Arcade Board of Trustee members are:

Ken Rule

Ken Rule - Deputy Mayor

I was born and raised in the Village of Arcade and have lived here my entire life.  I am the father of two children, Derek (attends Rochester Institute of Technology) and Brooke (attends Pioneer Central School).  Since I was sixteen years old, I have worked at my parents business, E. R. Rule and Sons, Inc. and my uncles business, Crabb Oil and Propane, Inc., both located in the Village of Arcade.

I was elected to my first two-year term as Trustee in 2008 and re-elected in 2010.  In April 2010, I was appointed to serve as Deputy Mayor.  Since my tenure on the Village Board, I have been liaison to the Water, Sewer, and Streets and Parks departments and I am currently liaison to the Justice and Police departments.  Working with the various departments has provided me an inside perspective and increased communication and cooperation.

Based on my experiences at the family business and through my social life, I have met and befriended may people who live and/or work in the Village of Arcade.  I believe that the knowledge I've gained has given me a good insight as to what is needed to support and govern the operations of the Village of Arcade.  I look forward to serving this Village for many years.

 Andrew Koerner - Trustee

I have lived in the area my entire life. I currently own a home in the village of Arcade with my wonderful wife Gillian. I am a 2005 graduate of Pioneer High School and a 2007 graduate of Alfred State College. I moved to the village in early 2010 and purchased my house in the summer of 2012. I was appointed to my first term as a Village of Arcade Trustee in the spring of 2012 by Mayor May and currently serve as liaison to the Arcade Fire Dept. and Streets and Parks.

Living in the village of Arcade has been one of the most positive experiences of my life. I enjoy the small town atmosphere and the strong sense of community that the village of Arcade offers to its residents.

As a younger individual I feel I can bring a different point of view to this community in a positive way and hopefully get more people, no matter what their age or opinion, interested and involved in small town government. I also hope to help make decisions that will improve our community and make the local
government agencies run efficiently and smoothly.

Being a Village of Arcade Trustee has been an experience that I have enjoyed since I have started, and plan to keep enjoying and serving my community for years to come.

 Eric Szucs - Trustee

Eric is a lifelong resident of Arcade, graduating from the Pioneer School system. He began his career at McDonalds in Arcade where he learned the importance of working hard, punctuality and the value of teamwork. In 2002 he returned home from SUNY Fredonia with a Bachelor in Communication and worked at Pioneer Credit Recovery, growing as a business professional & project manager, while learning how to strategically succeed in a corporate environment.

In 2016, he became the Director of Tourism & Marketing for the Wyoming County Chamber & Tourism, and has had the honor of promoting, marketing & developing our local businesses and organizations to tourists throughout the world. He is a passionate advocate for the business community, continuously championing a ‘shop local’ mentality, while dedicating his time and energy to improving the quality of life in our community.

His volunteer background includes local, County and State-wide organizations, including the New York State Tourism Industry Association, the Wyoming Foundation, Leadership Wyoming, the Revitalize Arcade Committee, the Arts Council for Wyoming County, and the Arcade Area Chamber of Commerce.

He has always believed in “doing good things.” With this in mind, he will work to strategically reinvent ourselves, productively harness the pride in our community, attract new commerce, find inspired entrepreneurs a home, collaborate to achieve exceptional objectives, and judiciously find solutions to challenges.

The Village of Arcade has endless possibilities, and Eric is honored to work side by side with passionate people who are inspired and energized to accomplish incredible things for our community.

donnaschiener  Elwyn Roll - Trustee

I was born and raised in the Village of Arcade. I attended Arcade Central and was a member of the Pioneer Central Graduating Class of 1971. Upon graduation I attended SUNY at Potsdam’s Crane School of Music graduating with a Bachelor Degree in Music Education in 1975; I continued my education and earned a Master of Science in Elementary Education. I retired after nearly 40 years of teaching at Pioneer Central School.

My wife, Debra Miller, and I raised our children Matthew and Megan in our Village.

While in High School I had the privilege of taking a history class with Mr. Frank Wood. His words resonate today “No matter what you do in life, remember your roots and always remember to give back to your community any way you can.” I am honored to sit as a Trustee on the Village of Arcade Board and hope that I may help our community prosper and grow.
